SV SMOG TESTING
SV Smog Testing is a test only station located in the high tech city of
Sunnyvale, CA. We have been serving happy customers since summer of 2006, and are eagerly waiting to serve you our community, and the entire Silicon Valley.
We use all the latest equipment, and reference materials to quickly, and
economically check your vehicles exhaust and emissions controls
systems. We make sure that your vehicle's exhaust gases are in
compliance with the laws and regulations set rorth by the state of
California.
At SV Smog, we take the satisfaction of our customers as an utmost
priority. We realize that not everyone wants to have a smog inspection
performed on their vehicle. But laws, are laws, and we do everything we
can to make it as painless and convenient as possible.
It is important that your vehicle is warmed up before you bring it in for a smog inspection. Even a brand new vehicle, which may be running just fine, will fail a smog test if not warmed up properly. As licensed smog technicians, we
know this, and it is our responsibility to make sure that the vehicle is
under optimum testing conditions. Technicians that purposefully inspect
cold vehicles so that they fail, are not only breaking the law, but they
are also trying to cheat you into UNNECESSARY REPAIRS!
CALIFORNIA SMOG CHECK PROGRAM
The current California state smog check program is the first of its kind. Using the latest techniques available, the state has dedicated itself to protecting its citizens. Mandating that vehicles in the most polluted areas of the state undergo an enhanced or “Acceleration Simulation Mode” test, the state has reduced our daily emissions output by tons and tons a day. These Hydrocarbons, Carbon Monoxide, and Oxides of Nitrogen are harmful to our health and cause respiratory illnesses. They hurt our O-Zone layer, and in effect, expose us to dangers from the sun as well.
The program is continuously enhanced in order to keep up with the demands of the California Air Recourses Board, and the Environmental Protection Agency. Although it is the most advanced program of its type, the overwhelming number of motorists, and their respective vehicles, force the Bureau of Automotive Repair to continuously look for new and innovative ways to further reduce tailpipe, and evaporative emissions.
